Juventino Martin Albino Caldua

Founder/Lead Peruvian Mountain Guide IVBV – UIAGM – IFMGA

Juventino was born in 1960 in Huaraz, Peru. At the age of 15 he was introduced to mountaineering by his father during the trips with his clients. Since that time his passion of the mountains has grown, and he continued to work in the mountains earning his international mountain guide certification (IVBV-IFMGA-UIAGM) in 1982. In 1978 he founded Peru Expeditions with his father, and now his son Eric continues the family tradition, making this a three generation family company.

Juventino continues to guide and help with the organization and execution of expeditions and treks.
Juventino also leads a traditional Peruvian life with his wife in the village of Unchus, just outside of Huaraz. Juventino’s well-respected reputation and knowledge have helped Peru Expeditions to grow to be the safe, honest, and professional company it is today.

Peru: Hiking, Trekking Santa Cruz and Climbing Nevado Pisco (5752 m)

Trekking Santa Cruz: The Huayhuash Range is the second highest tropical mountain chain in the world, after the Cordillera Blanca (White Range), immediately to the north. Even though it is located 120 kilometers from the Pacific Ocean, the crest forms part of the Continental Divide of South America.
Nevado Pisco: This is a very appealing mountain and a good option for climbers for acclimatization. Previous experience in mountaineering is not required, though you should be in good physical condition. At the summit (5752 m), you are rewarded with magnificent views of the Cordillera Blanca (White Range)

Peru: Hiking, Trekking Alpamayo and Climbing Nevado Vallunaraju (5686 m)

Trekking Alpamayo hiking: The Cordillera Blanca (White Range) is the largest and most popular mountain range in Peru, with 31 peaks more than 6,000 meters high, and more than half of the 6000 meter peaks in all of Peru.
Nevado Vallunaraju: The high peak of North Vallunaraju, at 5,686 meters, is close enough to Huaraz to do a summit trek in two days via a moderate climb. Setting out for this peak, you can see other peaks of the northern part of the Cordillera Blanca, including Oxshapalca and Ranrapalca.
