Our company Peru Expeditions Tours is Peru’s leading special tour operator for worldwide hiking adventure trips and mountain expeditions. Our market is the English-speaking and German-speaking area. Every year, almost 4,000 travel guests travel worldwide on more than 750 trips. 26 employees take care of all matters in our Huaraz and Cuzco city base camp. Our team comprises over 600 people worldwide. ( Guides, cooks, partners, etc. ). We are characterized by creativity, innovation and the constant optimization of the quality of our trips and our service. Sustainability is a key issue for us. Our good working atmosphere forms the basis for this. An open and appreciative approach to employees, partners and customers is a matter of course for us. Many prizes and awards confirm that we are consistently continuing on this path.

Great hiking trips, loving little things

One night in a thousand-star hotel in the Andes mountains, cooking with our family in our town of Unchus the Inca food Pacha Manca. Years of trekking experience, worldwide friendships and guides with local roots visiting colleagues on other continents – what makes traveling around the world so special.

Our claim

With our trips we want to promote understanding of culture, make insights into unknown ways of life possible and help to break down prejudices on both sides through contacts. Only with the understanding does a „ vacation “ become a trip, only then does the „ adventure “ begin! Such trips to other cultures and remote areas involve great responsibility. For worldwide hiking, travel therefore means more than just transporting our guests from A to B and organizing their stay in B.

We are the specialists for hiking

Hiking as a means to discover something along the way, to meet people and to slowly immerse yourself in a landscape – we are the specialists for that. Mr. Eric Raul Albino Lliuya has been hiking for 21 years, since 2002 customers have been able to share in his experiences and now also those of his employees and partners. We are the original for hand-picked hiking trips and leaders in the English-speaking and German-speaking market.

We are rooted locally

Whether we are traveling to all of south america, central america and north america of course also the 7 highest peaks of each continent: most of our guides have been born in the region or have lived here for years. They bring us together with compatriots who we would never meet without them. They know the legends, customs and secret paths of their home area. And so that our guides also have a feel for the life of their guests, speak their language and lead them safely and competently, we invest in their training and further education. Some of our guides got to know Europe with help of our international partners on study trips we initiated. We also promote exchange between our partners around the world: In the future we are planning to possibly take some aspiring mountain guides to learn the German language, for example, visit to Austria, Germany or Switzerland – and vice versa.

We are personal

We attach great importance to the personal care of our customers. That is why we hike in small groups, on average eight to twelve people are traveling together. This enables an intensive exchange both between the guide and guests and among the participants. During our trips we pay attention to loving details, in addition to the „ large “ visitor destinations, we also look for less well-known places. Our customers particularly appreciate the personal encounters: the conversation with the shepherd on the mountain pasture, the cooking together with a family at home, the visit to the grandmother of the mule leader.

We are safe

There is a key safety factor on our tours: namely our local guides who can best estimate the situation in their home country. If we still have the impression that it could be dangerous for our guests in a destination, we immediately take them out of the – program in Venezuela country because of the criminality and the political crisis that this country is going through, unfortunately, that was the case. However, some destinations only have the image of not being so safe, but in fact the crime rate in an average European city is far higher than in Venezuela, for example.

We are open and respectful

Our company Peru Expeditions Tours we are supporting with training for our staff in each region where we have travel destinations. Fair income for all contributors from the guide to the porters to the hosts. Relationships at eye level, careful handling of nature. A self-determined and smooth development of the regions covered and that the added value really remains in the local companies: that is what we are looking for. In our main regions we also support selected projects, including villages far away from our region near the city of Huaraz (Chocolate for Christmas every year).
