But a visit to the vibrant city of Buenos Aires should not be missed either, as a contrast to the tranquility of the Pampas. The mixture of optional excursions and days off make this trip an individual experience.

Day 1: Buenos Aires
Individual arrival in Buenos Aires.
Meeting with the guide and the group at the hotel. Briefing/information about the tour. In the afternoon guided tour of Buenos Aires (approx. 3 hours).

Day 2: Buenos Aires
Free day in Buenos Aires.
The city is spacious and offers countless possibilities for excursions. Whether a visit to the subtropical Venice “Tigre Delta”, a tango dance show or a shopping spree, the tour guide will be happy to help you with the organization. The excursions can be paid for and booked directly on site.

Day 3: Buenos Aires - El Chaltén
Transfer from the hotel to the airport.
Morning flight from Buenos Aires to El Calafate (airfare ticket not included).
Then drive by public bus through the Argentinean steppe to El Chaltén in the Fitz Roy National Park. The rest of the day is free for initial exploration.
Driving time approx. 4 hours, 220 km.

Day 4: El Chaltén
Hike to the Pliegue Tumbado panoramic mountain. When the weather is clear, you have an impressive view from there and enjoy views of Cerro Torre and Fitz Roy, among other things. Return to El Chaltén.

Day 5 :El Chaltén
Hike to the famous Lagoon de los Tres. If the weather is clear, you have another chance to see Fitz Roy and the neighboring battlements. You will spend the night again in El Chaltén.

Day 6 :El Chaltén
Free day in El Chaltén. There are enough possibilities. If you don’t want to be on your own on the well-marked paths, you can book a trip to the Los Huemules nature reserve, for example. From there you hike up to the panoramic mountain Loma del Diablo, from where the impressive Fitz Roy presents itself from the north. Or you can book another guided hike to Laguna Torre. There is also the possibility to visit the Lago del Desierto, the Huemul Glacier or the Madsen Museum. The excursions can be paid for and booked directly on site.

Day 7: El Chaltén - El Calafate
Take the public bus back to El Calafate. On the way, optional detour to the petrified forest (bookable and payable on site). Arrived in El Calafate, there is time for a stroll through the city.

Day 8 :El Calafate / Argentina - Torres del Paine / Chile
scene change. You leave Argentina and travel by public bus to Chile. During the day you will reach Torres del Paine National Park. The mountain massif, the landmark of the national park, impresses with its wild beauty and the steep rock walls and formations.

Day 9 :Torres del Paine
Guided day hike to the foot of the Torres del Paine. The impressive granite towers tower around 1000 meters high and vertically out of the wild, beautiful landscape. English speaking hiking guide.

Day 10: Torres del Paine
Excursion to the Gray Valley. Short hike to the Gray Lakes and the glacier of the same name. When the weather is nice, you can enjoy an impressive panoramic view of the mountains.

Day 11: Torres del Paine
Free day in Torres del Paine. A horseback ride across the Patagonian Pampas or a rafting tour to the Serrano and Balmaceda Glaciers in O’Higgins National Park are just two of the many attractions in the area. The area can also be further explored on foot. The excursions can be paid for and booked directly on site.

Day 12: Torres del Paine -El Calafate
Travel back to El Calafate in Argentina by public bus.

Day 13: El Calafate / Perito Moreno Glacier
Excursion to the main attraction of the region, the Perito Moreno Glacier. Again and again, chunks of ice break out of the glacier wall and crash into Lago Argentino with a roar. It is one of the few glaciers in the world that is still growing. In 1981, UNESCO declared these massive ice masses a World Heritage Site. Return to El Calafate.
