- Classic Tours & Climb Nevado Mateo (5150 m) i…
It is not enough to be the highest tropical mountain chain in the world, to have beautiful glaciers like Huascarán or incredible snow-capped peaks like Alpamayo; nor is it enough to be revered by climbers from all over the planet, who seek to conquer its peak at any cost, since it is as irresistible as it is imposing.
She wants more. She wants the Black Mountain Range, the rock giant that is located in front of her. The dream of this bride is eternal and unattainable, because she has always separated them from the Callejón de Huaylas. But the Cordillera Blanca is and will continue to be the most beautiful of all. The most desired by its inhabitants and visitors.
The Cordillera Blanca is located in the northern Peruvian Andes, exactly in the Ancash region. This mountain range, with an approximate size of 200 km², is considered the longest continental mountain range (it crosses up to seven South American countries) on the planet.

Day 2: Drive along the Pacific Coast
In the morning we explore the capital of Peru. We start at the Plaza de Armas and stroll to the bishop’s palace with its famous wooden balconies, visit the cathedral and come across evidence of Peru’s colonial past at every turn. We then leave the capital on the Panamericana, always along the coast, heading north. In the evening we reach Las Aldas (340 km/ 5 h), where we spend the night directly by the sea in a simple ecolodge. In the evening we enjoy the sound of the sea and the sunset over the sea.

Day 3: Huaraz
A long and intense day. Before breakfast, you can explore the archaeological site of Las Aldas with its 16th century B.C. Visit ruins dating back to BC.
After breakfast we drive to Chanquillo and marvel at the pre-Columbian complex near the town of Casma in the Peruvian desert. Archaeologists and scientists assume that the 13 towers found here, which are up to 6 meters high, were used to observe the positions of the sun, such as winter and summer solstices, or to identify favorable times for sowing seeds. As we continue to Huaraz, we leave the Pacific coast and enter the mountains of the Cordillera Negra. The highest point of the day is the Callan Pass at 4225 m. Here we lace up our hiking boots and start acclimatization. We walk down to today’s destination, Huaraz (3100m), with always beautiful views of the entire Cordillera Blanca.

Day 6: Callejon de Huaylas
Today we head north to the Callejón de Huaylas valley. Here lies the city of Yungay, which was almost completely destroyed in a severe earthquake. The catastrophe happened in May 1970. Due to a severe landslide, the entire city and most of the 19,000 inhabitants were completely buried under mud and rubble. It is hard to imagine what tremendous earth movements must have led to the demolition of part of the west flank of the Huascaran massif. In the afternoon we continue to Caraz, the last town in the Huaylas Valley, and move into our lodge for the next two nights.

The spectacular turquoise lake surrounded by majestic glacial mountains is a once in a lifetime experience. Day 10: One day in Chacas
We drive to Chacas, a typical town of the Callejón de Conchucos. This consists of many small valley basins connected by deep gorges or wild high steppes. Small rural communities can be found in most of these basins. To the west are the snow-capped peaks of the Cordillera Blanca. From here we have a different but equally impressive view of the wild mountains. Chacas is famous for its wood crafts. The products of the local masters were exported to Europe with the support of the Italian Foundation, Don Bosco. The proceeds were invested in the education of the locals and in the development of the city. In the afternoon you have the opportunity to take part in an optional tour and learn more about the history of the region. Otherwise, the afternoon and evening are at your leisure. What happens in the event of bad weather?
About the meteorological conditions of the climate, we try to organize the trips of each tour in the best season to have the best views and enjoy the selected trip but sometimes even is good season we can have bad weather, in this case on hiking or treks trips The complications are minimal, but when this happens during high-altitude climbing expeditions, the complications can become very difficult, that is why the bosses or leaders of the local guides must always make the most correct decision for the safety of our passengers, so we always recommend listening to the best advice from the local guide assigned for each tour. If you have any other questions please contact us. For calls or inquiries to this number: +51 943 081 066
Can I join a group?
We as a local company and connoisseurs of tours have departures on different dates. The best thing to do is to join a travel group to take care of your budget, and of course you can join our groups, but on trips like mountaineering we recommend going in small groups. To join a group, ask us for the dates and we will send you the necessary information to be able to join any of our trips.
Why go in a private trip: For trips whether trekking or high mountains, going privately is the most recommended option, but the costs are more expensive. So, if one joins a group, the prices will be more reasonable. In the mountains, the only disadvantage is if you are in a wall with another partner and if one of the participants gets tired or gets sick. In this case, you have to abort or cancel the summit and return together. For more information, contact us. We can schedule a call via WhatsApp to clarify all your questions.
In a mountain, for example, if 3 people go and one of the participants falls ill on the route, for security reasons they have to cancel or abort the summit or return all together. The same in a technical mountain if the climbing partner gets sick they all have to return, for these reasons sometimes it is better to go private only because for a single person the costs are more expensive for the same reason that the trip would already be private .

Local currency is exchanged on site. You can change both dollars and euros, the two currencies are the most used. We recommend taking bills of different denominations.
ATMs are available in the larger cities. Attention! We avoid dollars from the years 1996-2006 (some series from these years are not accepted at all). It is better to take dollars issued after 2006 to better the most recent of the current year.
