Lima – Cusco – Huaraz – Lima

You are here:

Peru is the country that can completely satisfy all human tastes, preferences and energy! The people there are extremely earthy, humble and kind – a mentality too close to the senses of much of humanity. It is unique to Peru – Nature, mysticism and unparalleled world cultural and historical heritage!
Lima is the capital: of Peru located on the arid Pacific coast of the country. Although its colonial center is preserved, it is an overflowing metropolis and one of the largest cities in South America. The Larco Museum houses a collection of pre-Columbian art and the Museum of the Nation traces the history of the ancient civilizations of Peru. The Plaza de Armas and the 16th century cathedral are the core of the old center of Lima.
Cusco is a city in the Peruvian: Andes that was the capital of the Inca Empire and is known for its archaeological remains and Spanish colonial architecture. The Plaza de Armas is the center of the ancient city, with galleries, carved wooden balconies and ruins of Inca walls. The convent of Santo Domingo, in baroque style, was built on the Temple of the Inca Sun (Qoricancha) and has archaeological remains of Inca stonework.
Machu Picchu: is an Inca citadel located in the heights of the Andes mountains in Peru, above the Urubamba river valley. It was built in the fifteenth century and then abandoned, and is famous for its sophisticated dry stone walls that combine huge blocks without the use of a mortar, fascinating buildings that relate to astronomical alignments and panoramic views. The exact use he had remains a mystery.

You will be collected from your hotel or Plaza Regocijo (your choice) around 8:30am and driven with your guide to Maras, a beautiful little colonial village. At Maras you will see the colonial architecture with beautiful stone work and sculpture and learn about traditional textile techniques. You’ll have the opportunity to purchase some textiles here if you wish. We then drive to Moray where you can explore the incredible and still mysterious circular agricultural terraces that are surrounded by stunning mountain scenery. Finally, we will visit the salt mines (Salineras) where you can view the 3000 salt pools and watch the salt miners harvesting the salt of the Incas! As of June 2019 the Salt Mines are viewable only from above as the walkways between the pools are now closed due to damage from over-tourism. They are still beautiful and well worth the view. Salineras has a cute little shop where you can buy some hand mined Andean salt to take home with you if you wish. After seeing Salineras we take our private transport back to your hotel in Cusco.
