Let's go to Mount Denali

(6,190 meters) North America

More info about Denali – McKinley Expeditions Tours: Towering above the Alaskan Range at 20,310’/6,190m, Denali is often thought of as the most classic climb in North America. Its beauty and grandeur has been capturing the imagination of climbers since the early 1950’s, and its difficulty and prestige continues to draw alpinists from all over the world. As the tallest peak in North America and one of the coveted Seven Summits, making the summit of Denali takes skill, strength, and a resounding perseverance.

Highlights and hidden gems

Mount Denali (6,194 m) is the highest peak in North America. Located in the United States, in the state of Alaska, near the Arctic Circle. A typical ascent takes approximately three weeks, of which two weeks are hard work in the glacial zone, in almost extreme conditions. Participants are required to use purely mountaineering skills to a greater extent than on other peaks of the “seven”. At the same time, all goods must be transported independently, including recycled waste. And yet, when organizing a trip to McKinley, you have to solve a puzzle with obtaining an official permit and an American visa. All this is not difficult at all if you start on time. There are quite a few routes in Denali, but over 80% of climbers hike the length of West Butress, which is long, but technically easy. More than 20,000 people have already successfully climbed the highest point in the United States.

USA: Expedition to Mount McKinley / Denali (6193 m), a trip with a Russian Mountain Guide 7 Summits Club Collection

You are here:

Route: Moscow – Anchorage – Talkeetna – l. Kahiltna – the top of Mount McKinley (Denali) – descent along the ascent route.

Information: Seven Summits project. Expeditions and Travel Club 7 Summits. Climbing on the classic route (West Battres – West Buttress). Note: “7 Summits Club” – the only Russian company, which has a formal right to organize commercial expeditions on Mount McKinley. We work with one of the 6 licensed US companies have the exclusive right to provide guide services on McKinley! This program we organize our representative from the club 1 time per year. Climbing on Mount McKinley – the highest peak in North America – is sometimes compared with the ascent Everest in complexity. It’s really hard and cold: tents among the deserted expanses of snow, glaciers with a lot of cracks, temperatures up to – 25-35 degrees. In general, it is necessary to think well before you go to such an adventure. The proposed route – this is a classic route of ascent to the summit of McKinley (or Denali, which is a place of language Aleut means “high” or “great”) – on the West Buttress (West Buttress).

The main part of the road passes through the “closed” glacier (the glacier, the surface of which is covered with snow, ice cracks are not visible). All this snow and ice route does not pose any major technical difficulties, although the slope of the individual sections can be up to 40-45 degrees. These sites provesheny railing. The route (total length about 30 km) goes through the glacier Kahiltna camp 2400m, 3000m, 3300m. It is about 15km snowshoe, dragging a sledge loaded with. Then snegostupyostavlyayut (usually Eleven camp at 3300m) and in cats sovershaeyut sufficiently long transition through the “Windy Corner”, a height of 4330m. This Advanced Base Camp (Camp or Rangers). Next go to the assault camp in 5200, and from here, through the “Pass Denali” ascent to the summit. The route is complicated by very low temperatures (a problem even go to the bathroom) and the abundance of larger cracks.

About the meteorological conditions of the climate, we try to organize the trips of each tour in the best season to have the best views and enjoy the selected trip but sometimes even is good season we can have bad weather, in this case on hiking or treks trips The complications are minimal, but when this happens during high-altitude climbing expeditions, the complications can become very difficult, that is why the bosses or leaders of the local guides must always make the most correct decision for the safety of our passengers, so we always recommend listening to the best advice from the local guide assigned for each tour. If you have any other questions please contact us. For calls or inquiries to this number: +51 943 081 066

We as a local company and connoisseurs of tours have departures on different dates. The best thing to do is to join a travel group to take care of your budget, and of course you can join our groups, but on trips like mountaineering we recommend going in small groups. To join a group, ask us for the dates and we will send you the necessary information to be able to join any of our trips.

Why go in a private trip: For trips whether trekking or high mountains, going privately is the most recommended option, but the costs are more expensive. So, if one joins a group, the prices will be more reasonable. In the mountains, the only disadvantage is if you are in a wall with another partner and if one of the participants gets tired or gets sick. In this case, you have to abort or cancel the summit and return together. For more information, contact us. We can schedule a call via WhatsApp to clarify all your questions.

In a mountain, for example, if 3 people go and one of the participants falls ill on the route, for security reasons they have to cancel or abort the summit or return all together. The same in a technical mountain if the climbing partner gets sick they all have to return, for these reasons sometimes it is better to go private only because for a single person the costs are more expensive for the same reason that the trip would already be private .
