The Adventure Group of Club 7 Vershin visited the sights of Arequipa and moved to the Valley of the Volcanoes
Hello everyone from Peru!
For three whole days we had no connection, and by the way a lot of interesting things happened. Looking ahead, you can congratulate us on the first peak of our — program, we successfully ascended to Peak Maria 5550m!
It all started with the Rainbow Mountains and mini ascent to the Vinyunka 5036m. Unfortunately, with the weather we were not very lucky and we practically did not see the most important Rainbow Mountain. However, after the descent, when we continued trekking to our first camp, we were able to see the Rainbow Mountains in all its glory!
Our first stop was Laguna Ausangate, and after — Basic Camp Pika Maria — our first ascent in the Peruvian Andes. It was one of the most picturesque tracks: flocks of alpacas, snow peaks, mountain rivers and endless steppes of the Southern Andes.
Last night we started at the assault of Peak Maria. Climbing was not easy. Local guides decided to cut the path through a rocky pass, which turned out to be quite dangerous. But thanks to the experience of our super-guide Boris Egorov, we were able to safely pass to overcome this pass and climb to the top.
By evening, we went down to hot springs in the village of Pakchant, from where we went back to Cuzco. Today we are flying to the cultural capital of Arequipu, where we will continue the program.
In touch with the super-guid Boris Egorov and Daria Sivova.
