The Peruvian government, through the authorities of the sector, granted GRUPO ALPAMAYO TOURS & PERU EXPEDITIONS TOURS the CALTUR certification, a very important part of the National Tourism Quality Plan. We got level 2 and hope to get to level 3 soon, which is the highest.

Importance of CALTUR Certification

For GRUPO ALPAMAYO TOURS & PERU EXPEDITIONS TOURS, having obtained this certification in 2023 is something very valuable. Firstly, it is a concrete proof of the high level of quality of all our tourism services. It also obliges us to maintain these high service standards in our areas, and finally, reaffirms, reinforces our leadership position in the national market. Find out more about who we are and our commitments. The Integrated Management System (SIG) is the one that controls all the operations and quality standards that we obtain.

The level 2 CALTUR certification that GRUPO ALPAMAYO TOURS & PERU EXPEDITIONS TOURS obtained means official recognition of the excellence that we provide to visitors (this requires above all that we be a travel agency with valid certificates and licenses), both national and foreign , which contributes to increase the prestige of the country as a highly desirable tourist destination. Likewise, it is an award for the efficient and modern organization of all areas of our company.

Preparation and Evaluation of GRUPO ALPAMAYO TOURS & PERU EXPEDITIONS TOURS

The preparation process with a view to obtaining the CALTUR certification was something global and progressive in our travel agency: it took months and required the participation of our entire staff of professionals. Many aspects of the operations were improved, training workshops were held and finally there was an exhaustive review of the work systems in all sectors, from Management to the Quality Control sector, to adapt them to the requirements indicated by the auditors of CALTUR, who are specialists from CENFOTUR, the best institution in Peru in tourism education, recognized by the World Tourism Organization. We had several long working meetings with them throughout this period.

For the evaluation, we received a specialized official from the Ministry of Foreign Trade and Tourism at our headquarters, who for several hours tested and scrutinized essential aspects such as the marketing of tourist destinations, communication with clients for contacts, quotes, logistics of tours, efficiency in various areas such as sales, operations and reservations, among others. Of course, all the sectors required to achieve CALTUR certification were inspected. In addition, the expert auditor reviewed step by step the implementation of the SABP (System for the Application of Good Practices), a tool developed to progressively implement a dynamic of continuous improvement in the company, which greatly increases the quality and competitiveness of the same.

Due to the fact that the implementation of our high quality system and leadership in tourism services achieved an excellent final rating, we obtained the level 2 certification (one step away from the maximum, that is, level 3), in addition to the congratulations of the Ministry.

Due to government regulations, there is an administrative term between the approval and the officialization of the CALTUR certificate. For the coming months, we await the announcement and respective documents, as well as the award ceremony, all of which we will also share with you.
