In the heart of the Cordillera Blanca, where the world’s most demanding alpine challenges are born, Socorro Andino Peruano (S.A.P.) is proud to announce a historic milestone for Peru: the First International Course on High-Mountain Rescue Operations and Helicopter S.A.R.

A Groundbreaking Training Program

From May 23rd to 27th, 2026, Huaraz will become the epicenter of mountain safety. This course is designed to unify protocols and elevate the technical standards of rescuers, mountain guides, firefighters, police officers, and civil defense personnel.

Technical Mastery in Real Scenarios

Under the guidance of highly specialized national and international instructors, participants will undergo rigorous training in:

  • Search and Rescue (SAR): Advanced search patterns and strategic planning.

  • Wilderness First Responder (WFR): Specialized first aid for remote and hostile environments.

  • Technical Rescue: Mastery of rope systems, glacier progression, and stretcher evacuation.

  • Helicopter Operations: Live practice of aerial support and mountain evacuations—a first for training in the region.

Institutional Synergy

This project is not just a course; it is a unified effort to protect lives. The event is backed by prestigious institutions, including:

  • Huascarán National Park & Peruvian National Police (High Mountain Unit).

  • Peruvian Air Force (FAP) & SAMU.

  • International Support: Backed by principles from ICAR (International Commission for Alpine Rescue) and the Red Cross.

The Mission: One Voice, One Protocol

Our goal is clear: to elevate the safety standards in the Peruvian Andes. By promoting a culture of prevention and self-protection, we ensure that when an emergency strikes, the response is professional, coordinated, and effective.
