In the world of high-altitude mountaineering, experience is the ultimate currency. At Peru Expeditions Tours, our leadership is rooted in a lifelong passion for the Andes, personified by our Managing Director and lead guide, Eric Raul Albino Lliuya.
A Legacy of Mountains
Born in 1984 in the picturesque village of Unchus, Huaraz, Eric was destined for the peaks. Growing up in the shadow of the Cordillera Blanca, he was inspired by the adventures of his father and grandfather. His father, Juventino Martin Albino Caldua, is a legendary AGMP-UIAGM mountain guide, and it was under this mentorship that Eric began his professional journey at the age of 18.
Professional Excellence & Safety
Today, Eric is a highly respected State-Certified Mountain Guide (AGOMP), trained at the prestigious CEAM (Peruvian School of Mountain Guides). As the General Manager of Peru Expeditions Tours, he combines technical mastery with flawless logistics management. His reputation is built on:
Precision & Responsibility: Every detail of your expedition, from safety protocols to mountain logistics, is personally overseen by Eric.
Global Expertise: With mountaineering experience spanning South America, North America, and Europe, he brings a world-class perspective to the local trails.
Educator & Mentor: As an instructor for mountaineering training courses (AGOMP), he is dedicated to shaping the next generation of Peruvian climbers.
Connection Through Language and Culture
Eric’s ability to connect with travelers from around the globe is one of his greatest strengths. He is a polyglot, fluent in:
Spanish 🇵🇪 (Native)
Quechua 🏔️ (The ancestral language of the Andes)
English 🇬🇧 (Professional)
French 🇫🇷 (Conversational)
German 🇩🇪 (Currently mastering, as a proud member of the DAV – Deutscher Alpenverein)
Beyond the Business
When he isn’t managing logistics at www.peru-expeditions.org or www.Alpamayo.at, you’ll find Eric on the rock. He is an avid sport climber and high-altitude specialist who lives and breathes the mountain lifestyle. For Eric, mountaineering isn’t just a job—it’s a heritage he shares with every guest.
