Inca Trail Student Discount

The Inca Trail prices are around $650 to $750 (depend of the tour operator), the discounted price for Inca Trail students would be a bit lower – about U$ 30 less – but the discount only applies to the Inca Trail permit & the Machu Picchu entrance fee. On the Inca Trail should include Inca Trail & Machu Picchu entrance fees, transportation to the head trail start from Cusco to Km 82 or Km 104, Double tents, all food, water, knowledgeable guide, guide tour of Machu Picchu, tourist bus ride down from Machu Picchu to Aguas Calientes and transportation from Ollantaytambo to Cusco, tourist train from Aguas Calientes to Ollantaytambo.

In order to obtain this discount you must have a valid University student card (Maximum age 25 YO) . It is important you scan and e-mail this to us at the time of booking and that it is valid on the date you are booked on the Inca Trail/alternative trek (you will need to show the real University upon your arrival here in Cusco and in Machu Picchu). To obtain the discount, you must present your university card and you can have the discount.

If you would like to get the discount, it is very important to present your university student cards original. Once presented, the Tierras Vivas Tour Operator will confirm, it is possible to get the student discount or no.

The Inca Trail price for the 4 or 2 day trek these days, as permit fees & other non-negotiable costs rise, Inca Trail fees increase. Much lower prices either do not include all of the above (meaning you have to pay out of pocket yourself), or cut costs by providing poor food & equipment, or at the expense of the porters & guides with low pay

Inca Trail Luxury which cost even more, will include porters & perhaps the rental items, and maybe offer a toilet tent (portable outhouse) maybe fancier food & equipment. The luxury tour price is higher than $950; actualy price depends on the agency.

When is the best time to hike the Inca Trail?

The best season is during the dry season, which covers the months April to the end of September. In October the rains begin and you can find Machu Picchu covered by clouds. If you travel in June, we recommend you to book the Inti Raymi Tour that takes place in June 24th, and also hike the Palcoyo Mountain Tour, which is an incredible Rainbow Mountain located in the Andes.
