At Socorro Andino Peruano (S.A.P.), we are more than a rescue association; we are a brotherhood of volunteers dedicated to high-altitude safety. Born in the heart of the Peruvian Andes, in the rugged region of Ancash, we understand that the mountain is a place of immense beauty but also of extreme risk.

A Mission Beyond Borders

For us, mountaineering is not just a physical challenge—it is a responsibility. During our recent expedition to Chimborazo, the highest point in Ecuador and one of the furthest points from the Earth’s center, we encountered a critical reality: In the high mountains, communication is the thin line between life and tragedy.

Technology to Save Lives: The Starlink Donation

Recognizing the urgent need for reliable communication in remote areas, Eric Raúl Albino Lliuya, founder of Socorro Andino Peruano, personally managed the donation of a Starlink satellite internet antenna for the Chimborazo Refuge.

This high-speed connection is a game-changer for mountain safety, allowing:

  • Real-time coordination of search and rescue (SAR) operations.

  • Instant weather updates to prevent accidents before they happen.

  • Direct communication between the refuge and emergency medical services.

Our Commitment to the Andean Community

This donation reflects our core values: Prevention, Solidarity, and Action. Whether in the Cordillera Blanca of Peru or the volcanic peaks of Ecuador, our mission remains the same: to ensure that every explorer who ventures into the heights has a better chance of returning home safely.

🏔️ Support the Spirit of Rescue

Join us in making the mountains a safer place for everyone. Adventure is better when it is responsible.
